2019 Hyundai Grand i10 Spotted Testing

The hatchback has been spotted testing well before its 2019 launch in India.

The next generation Hyundai Grand i10 has been spotted testing with the Hyundai Carlino

Hyundai, the second largest car maker in India is on a product offensive with eight new products slated to go on sale in India by the year 2020. The first among these will be the all-new Hyundai Santro which will sit below the Hyundai Grand i10. And while the Grand i10 still looks quite good, the company has already started testing the next generation model that has been spotted testing along with the Hyundai Carlino.

The next generation Hyundai Grand i10 will have a sportier design on the exteriors and that is apparent from the aggressive looking front grille which takes its design inspiration from the Hyundai Creta. Even though the body is fully camouflaged, the slightly bigger dimensions are apparent. The headlights are still halogens but there are chances that the top model will get projectors. Daytime running lights too will be provided. At the rear, the lights too seem to have gotten bigger to match the overall dimensions. The door design is new and converges towards the end.

The interiors of the next generation Hyundai Grand i10 are yet to be seen but it is obvious that there will be more space inside. This will directly convert into more legroom and hopefully better headroom. Multi-function steering wheel that comes with the current Grand i10 will be carried forward and a smart touch infotainment system will be sitting on the centre console.

Engine details about the next gen Hyundai Grand i10 are scarce but we expect it to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and diesel motors that perform duties on the current model. Performance and mileage is expected to be better too. Transmissions on offer will be a 5-speed manual gearbox and most likely a 4-speed automatic. But, Hyundai’s AMT can replace the automatic transmission for saving costs. Prices for the new Hyundai Grand i10 should fall in the same ballpark as the current model and it will compete with the Maruti Swift and the Ford Figo.
