The Hyundai Elantra facelift has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 15.89 lakhs.
The 2019 Hyundai Elantra facelift has been launched in India and the D-segment sedan gets changes to the exteriors, interiors and mechanicals. The current generation of the Elantra was launched in India 3 years back and hence the Korean automaker has now given it a mid-life update.
The 2019 Hyundai Elantra gets tweaks to its design and comes with redesigned LED headlamps, new grille, new bumpers, new wraparound tail lamps, and refreshed alloys. With these changes, the Elantra does look sharper than before.
While the cabin layout remains similar, the Hyundai Elantra facelift gets more features like an Infinity audio system with a new 8.0-inch touchscreen that also offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also gets TPMS and wireless charging. Hyundai has also equipped the sedan with the BlueLink connectivity feature which is also present on the Venue.
Some other features on the Hyundai Elantra are dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, sunroof, front parking sensors, and hands-free boot opening. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, VSC and Hill Start Assist.
The older Elantra came with 2.0-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engines but now Hyundai has discontinued the diesel engine because it won’t comply with the upcoming BS6 norms and hence the Elantra is available only with a petrol engine now. The 2.0-litre unit produces 152 HP and 192 Nm and comes mated to either a 6-speed MT or an AT. The engine is BS6 compliant and has an ARAI fuel efficiency rating of 14.6 km/l.
