The 2019 Honda Civic has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 17.69 lakhs.
Honda has launched the 2019 Civic in India. The Civic is here after a long interval and this time it even gets a diesel engine. Honda has priced the sedan from Rs. 17.69-22.29 lakhs (ex-showroom). Bookings for the Civic had begun some time back and deliveries are slated to start by the mid of this month.
The sedan is offered with two engine options – a 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine mated to a 7-step CVT and a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This is the first time that Honda has offered the Civic with a diesel engine option. The car is offered in 3 variants and 5 colour options – Platinum White Pearl, Radiant Red, Modern Steel, Lunar Silver, and Golden Brown.
The 1.8 litre i-VTEC petrol engine produces 141 HP of maximum power and 174 Nm of torque, with a claimed fuel efficiency of 16.5 km/l, whereas the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine produces 118 HP and 300 Nm of torque, with a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.8 km/l.
The 2019 Honda Civic is available in 3 variants – V, VX and ZX. It is good to see that even the base V variant comes with a loaded equipment list. The Honda Civic competes with the Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra, and Toyota Corolla Altis.
