This year’s Geneva Motor Show brought with it a lot of amazing cars, MotorBeam brings the top 5 supercars to you.
Pininfarina Battista
After teasing the car for quite some time with sketches and teaser images, Pininfarina finally unveiled their first car, the Battista. Named after the brand’s founder, Battista Pinin Farina, this electric supercar is one of the fastest road legal cars to come out of Italy. The Battista will be produced at Pininfarina Cambiano based factory, moreover, each of them will be hand-crafted.
The Battista looks futuristic, to say the least. The front is home to aggressive headlights that merge through a light bar that spreads across the width of the car. Being an Italian car, there’s plenty of character lines to be seen on the sides. As the line progress towards the rear of the car, the design is completed with the help of the floating rear wing. This wing pops out at higher speeds to increase downforce while also acting as an air-brake. It gets 21-inch wheels with Pirelli P-Zero rubbers to give it that extra grip. Moreover, braking duties are taken care of by carbon-ceramic 6-piston brakes which also aids in energy recovery.
The electric supercar is powered by the Croatian brand, Rimac’s T-shaped battery pack. This setup has been placed between the driver and passenger seats to ensure top levels of handling. The car produces an astounding 1900 PS of power and 2300 Nm of torque. This allows the car to catapult from 0-100 km/hr in under 2 seconds while 0-300 km/hr run takes just 12 seconds. The top speed is 350 km/hr. The range of the car is 450 kms, thanks to the 120 kWh Li-Ion battery pack.
Only 150 units of the Battista will ever be produced. Deliveries are slated to begin in 2020. Pininfarina hasn’t revealed the price tag for the Battista as of now. However, it is expected to be priced over $2.5 Million (Rs. 17.15 crores).
