The BMW X4 will be launched in India by March 2019 and it will be positioned above the X3.
The Indian market, which was expecting to see BMW roll out some new toys for the customers after their announcement to introduce 7 new SUVs into the market, might not have to wait much longer. The BMW X4, one of the most looked-forward-to vehicles, was spotted testing on Chennai roads recently. The X4 is set to be introduced as a Sports Activity Coupe. It is expected to be launched by the first quarter of 2019.
The BMW X4 is an amalgamation of two powerful elements of the BMW. It combines the power of the X-segment of BMW vehicles with the looks of the classic coupe. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, TwinPower Turbo inline engine will come with a capacity of generating 248 HP and 350 Nm torque. The 1998cc engine is paired to a 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission which has both Automatic and Manual shift modes and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
It will also have the xDrive AWD system and 4-wheel ventilated anti-lock disc brakes with Dynamic Brake Control. The X4 comes integrated with other ride-enhancements like Variable Sport Steering, Hill Descent Control, M Sport Suspension, Front and Rear anti -roll stabilizer bars Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), including Brake Drying, Brake Stand-by, Start-off Assistant and Brake Fade Compensation and Gas-pressure shock absorbers and Performance Control.
The diesel variant will come with a 1995cc, 4-cylinder engine that can generate a maximum power of 192.63 HP and a peak torque of 400 Nm. It is also mated with a semi-auto gearbox. The X4 uses an Adaptive M chassis and sport steering.
