Audi India is going to introduce 2 new sedans in the Indian market – the new A6 and the A8.
Audi will launch the all-new A6 in the Indian market in September 2019. The luxury saloon was showcased and launched globally quite some time back and it is now going to make its debut in India after a long wait. The new A6 will rival the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes E-Class, Jaguar XF and the Volvo S90.
The 2019 Audi A6 has got an umpteen number of changes inside out and it is a whole new car. The styling looks noticeably sportier and modern while the cabin also oozes of a lot of premiumness. The new A6 also gets a lot more features than the outgoing model.
The new Audi A6 gets 37 driver assistance systems which have been packed into various modes like Park Assist, Tour Assist and City Assist. It also gets Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, MMI Plus, and a lot more.
Also, Audi dealers have now started taking bookings for the new A8. Just like the A6, even the A8 gets a thorough makeover on the outside as well as inside. The design looks modern and sharp now while the cabin also looks and feels very distinctive.
While the powertrains haven’t been confirmed officially, it is likely that the engines available globally will be offered with both the models. There will be a 3.0-litre V6 petrol mill churning out 340 HP and 500 Nm while diesel buyers will get a 3.0-litre engine too, producing 286 HP and 600 Nm. The petrol engine will get a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox while the oil-burner will get an 8-speed AT.
There’s also a 2.0-litre diesel engine which is likely to be made available on the A6 in two states of tune. The 3.0-litre variants also get quattro along with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The new A8 will be launched towards the end of 2019 and it will rival the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series and the Jaguar XJ-L.
Audi has launched the ‘My Audi Connect’ app which is priced at Rs. 19,999/- per annum but will be offered as complimentary on higher models. The company also inaugurated its new showroom in Gurugram which is spread over 10,500 square feet with a display of 21 cars. The German automaker has also introduced Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality elements at the new showroom which will help customers experience and configure Audi cars.
