2018 Yamaha R25 gets 3 new colours, while Indian market still awaits the launch of the BS4 compliant R3.
Yamaha has updated the R25 for the Indonesian market with three new colours – Metallic Black, Deep Purplish Blue and Silver Black. While the R25 isn’t on sale in India, we still await the launch of the BS4 compliant R3 which was discontinued post the ban on sale and registration of BS3 vehicles by the Indian Government. The Japanese company is expected to launch the BS4 R3 in India by February 2018.
Apart from the three new colours, the Yamaha R25 gets no mechanical changes. The motorcycle continues with a 250cc in-line twin-cylinder liquid-cooled and fuel-injected motor that produces 36 PS of power at 12,500 RPM and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike uses standard telescopic forks up front and a KYB monoshock at the rear. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with 110-section front and 140-section rear tyre.
The Yamaha R25 uses disc brakes at both ends and comes with a 14-litre fuel-tank capacity. Prices for the updated R25 start at IDR 5,62,00,000 (approximately Rs. 2.53 lakh) for the non-ABS trim and IDR 6,22,00,000 (approximately Rs. 2.81 lakh), both prices, on-road, Jakarta.
