2018 Triumph Tiger 800 XC & XR Unveiled, India Bound

Triumph has unveiled the 2018 iterations of the Tiger XC and XR at the 2017 EICMA.

The 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 XC and XR make their debut at the 2017 EICMA in Milan, Italy. Lot has changed on the Tiger 800 and here is all you need to know about the updated Tiger 800 XC and XR.

Triumph claims to have made over 200 upgrades to the chassis and engine of the Tiger 800. The new Tiger 800 XC and XR get 5-inch TFT instrument console, 6 riding modes, handlebar mounted backlit switches, LED lighting and enhanced cruise control. The company is also offering a 5-step adjustable windscreen on the Tiger 800.

The chassis and the engine block of the bikes have been tweaked for better off-road ability and balance. The all-new exhaust is lighter and comes with a good soundtrack. Triumph has included a shorter first gear for better acceleration and off-road traction at lower speeds.

The Tiger 800 comes powered by an 800cc in-line three-cylinder engine. The motor has been tuned to deliver a peak power of 95 HP. More details on the powertrain are yet to be revealed. The motorcycle gets safety features like switchable ABS, switchable Traction Control, ride-by-wire throttle, heated seats and handlebar grips. It also gets adjustable seat heights at 810 and 830 mm on the XR variants and at 840 to 860 mm on the XC models.
