The 2018 Renault Duster saw a global unveil a few days back and now we bring you a first look video of the SUV.
The 2018 Renault Duster sees a public debut at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show. The compact SUV gets changes to the exterior and interior and features an evolutionary design approach when compared to its predecessor.
The exterior now gets a wider bumper with a satin chrome finish to the lower portion. The chiseled bonnet, chrome embellished grille and the headlamps with LED DRLs further accentuate the front fascia of the car. The flared wheel arches and the new 17-inch dual-tone machine finished alloys add muscle to the car’s side profile. The tail-lights have been moved to the corners and get Dacia’s signature four-square design as well as LED treatment. The tail-gate has been redesigned too.
The 2018 Renault Duster gets a driver-focused cabin with an all-new dash layout, multi-function 4-spoke steering wheel, new rotary dials for the climate control and toggle switches to control and set various functions of the car. There are 5 AC vents in place of 4 (on the dashboard) and a MediaNAV touchscreen infotainment system with an optional multi-view camera feature. The cabin space has improved thanks to the windshield being moved ahead by 100 mm but the quality of materials inside the cabin remains similar to the previous models with no soft-touch plastics.
Coming to the powertrain options, the 2018 Renault Duster gets both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol line-up includes 1.6-litre and 1.2-litre turbocharged engines which produce 115 HP and 125 HP respectively. The diesel range includes a 1.5-litre engine that comes in a 90 HP guise and a 110 HP guise.
Renault hasn’t yet confirmed an India launch of this new Duster but it is likely to be launched next year. It is likely that the India-spec Duster will continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The 1.5 petrol motor puts out 106 HP of power and 141 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed CVT automatic gearbox.
The 1.5 diesel comes in two states of tune, an 85 HP version and a 110 HP version. The 85 HP diesel engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the 110 HP version gets a 6-speed manual and an AMT gearbox as well.
