The 2018 Mercedes C-Class facelift has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs. 40 lakhs going up to Rs. 48.50 lakhs.
The current generation W205 Mercedes C-Class was launched in India in 2014 and now the German automaker has given the luxury sedan a mid-life update. The 2018 C-Class is now offered with a new 2.0-litre diesel engine offered in 2 states of tune.
The 2018 Mercedes C-Class comes with some changes to the exteriors and interiors. On the outside, it gets a new Silver paint job, tweaks to the bumpers, new alloys and the addition of LED head lamps and tail lamps.
The interior of the 2018 C-Class gets a new steering wheel with a dual touchpad control system, rain-sensing sunroof, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch screen for the COMAND infotainment system. The AMG Line variant also comes with Active Parking Assist.
Under the hood of the sedan is a new BS6 compliant 2.0-litre, 4-cyl, diesel engine offered in 2 states of tune – 194 HP/400 Nm of the C220d and 245 HP/500 Nm on the C300d. Power is sent out to the rear wheels through a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Overall, the C-Class facelift comes with 6000 new parts.
The C220d is offered in the Prime and Progressive trims while the C300d comes in only the top-spec AMG Line trim. The Mercedes C-Class rivals the BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 and Jaguar XE.
