2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 4Matic+ Coupe launched in India, priced at Rs. 2.55 crores.
Mercedes-AMG has been on a roll in India. Post the launch of the E63 S 4Matic+, GLE 43 OrangeArt and the SLC 43 RedArt editions, the German automaker has now launched the S63 4Matic+ Coupe in India priced at Rs. 2.55 crores (ex-showroom, India). The 2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 4Matic+ Coupe is the fourth AMG model to be launched in the country.
In terms of exteriors, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 4Matic+ Coupe gets a Panamericana grille, front bumper with larger air intakes and more aero sculpting, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and new OLED tail lamps. The cabin too remains vastly similar to the previous model but there are subtle changes. There is a new AMG multi-function steering wheel and AMG sports seats wrapped in Nappa leather. The two 12.3-inch screens (one for the instrument cluster and one for the infotainment system) continue to feature in the two-door coupe.
Done with exteriors and interiors, let’s talk about the performance, shall we? Powering the 2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 4Matic+ Coupe is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that pumps out 612 PS of power at 5500-6000 RPM and a massive 900 Nm of torque at 2750-4500 RPM. The motor comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Though this is a smaller compared to the predecessor’s 5.5-litre powertrain, power output has seen a marginal increase of 19 PS while the torque output remains identical. 0-100 km/hr sprint is done in just 3.5 seconds while the top speed is rated at 250 km/hr. Not impressed? Then, opt for the AMG Driver package, top speed can be increased to 300 km/hr!
