The 2018 Maruti Wagon R has been spotted testing ahead of its launch, reveals its design.
The 2018 Maruti Wagon R has been spied testing in Gurgaon, India with camouflage. The tall boy stance of the hatchback gives away that this is indeed the Wagon R. While there is no word on the launch timeline of the new Wagon R from Maruti yet, the vehicle is expected to be underpinned by Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform and will also come in a 7-seater variant.
Th test mule, though heavily camouflaged, revealed some minor details of the front fascia. There are sweptback headlamps and the Suzuki logo is placed on a horizontal bar that runs across the front grille. Below there is a 3-slat air dam with circular fog lights placed on either side. The side profile shows the new ORVMS with turn indicators and the steel wheels. Images of the rear and interior aren’t available yet.
Currently, the Maruti Wagon R comes powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol motor that produces 67 HP of power and 90 Nm of torque. The powertrain comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while an AMT transmission is offered as optional. The automaker is likely to continue the same engine and gearbox options in the 2018 Maruti Wagon R.
