The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift has been spied yet again, launch likely to happen at the Auto Expo.
Maruti’s famous hatchback, the Swift, in its third generation avatar, is expected to be launched at the 2018 Auto Expo. Ahead of its launch in India, the car has been spotted sans camouflage. The test mule in the red shade seems identical to the one spotted the last time.
The spotted car is likely to be the top of the line variant courtesy the projector headlights with LED DRLs, dual-tone alloy wheels and the LED tail-lights. In addition to the above, the test mule also sports fog lights and ORVM-mounted turn indicators. The new Swift also gets a different grille and the rear door handles mounted on the C-pillar. While pictures of the interior weren’t available, the third-gen Swift will feature an all-black cabin with a similar layout as the Maruti Dzire. The SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity will be offered on the top trims.
The next-generation Swift will come powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines. The 1.2 petrol makes 82 HP of power and 113 Nm of torque while the 1.3 diesel is good for 74 HP and 190 Nm of torque. Both the powertrains will come paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while the 5-speed AMT gearbox will be offered as optional. Prices are expected to be hiked by around 5 percent variant-to-variant over the outgoing model.
