2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift spotted without camouflage, launch soon.
The 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift has been spied uncamouflaged. The mid-life cycle updates not only include a revised front fascia but also a major change under the hood as well. For starters, the fascia gets a new grille, bumper and fog lamps as well. The headlights have a sharper design and give the front end some aggression. The side and rear profiles of the car remain more or less identical to the current model. The alloy wheel design has been slightly tweaked.
The 2018 Maruti Ciaz is also expected to get minor tweaks to the cabin as well. Sources suggest that some elements from the Dzire, like the faux wood trims with a different shade, are likely to make it to the mid-size sedan. In terms of mechanicals, the Ciaz facelift is expected to get new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The 1.5-litre petrol is likely to have similar power and torque output as the current 1.4-litre petrol but the new oil-burner is expected to be on par with its rivals.
Transmission options aren’t known yet but if sources are to be believed, both the new petrol and diesel engines are likely to get a 6-speed manual transmission. The Indo-Japanese automaker is also likely to offer the option of an automatic transmission (in both petrol and diesel) as well. The Ciaz has been the best selling mid-size sedan and will continue to rival the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento, Fiat Linea and the recently launched Toyota Yaris.
