The 2018 Mahindra XUV700 has been spied testing yet again, launch imminent.
The 2018 Mahindra XUV700 (name yet to be confirmed) has been spotted testing yet again undisguised. The Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour rival has been spied by MotorBeam reader Romit. Though Mahindra hasn’t yet confirmed the official launch date, expect the SUV on Indian roads by the festive season this year or by early next year.
The spy images reveal the side and the rear profile of the 2018 Mahindra XUV700 with the badges being covered. The 7-seater SUV runs on 5-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels and gets LED tail-lights. The XUV700 will come powered by a 2.2-litre e-XDi220 motor which produces 187 HP of power and 420 Nm of torque. The powertrain comes mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox (with 4WD) sourced from Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle will be positioned above the XUV500 and will get features like automatic headlamps and wipers, powered tailgate, touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery and an automatic climate control.
Underpinned by a Quad Frame architecture, the SUV was showcased earlier this year at the Auto Expo. Rumour has it that the vehicle is likely to be priced at around Rs. 24-25 lakhs (ex-showroom) and if it turns out to be true, it will undercut its rivals by a significant margin.
