2018 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift To Get 140 BHP Diesel Engine

Mahindra is said to be working on the Scorpio facelift owing to the test mules being spotted in Karnataka.

The 2018 Mahindra Scorpio facelift is under development

Mahindra launched the second-generation Scorpio in 2014, and after that, this facelift will be the first update that the Scorpio receives. Looking at the images, it is confirmed that the Scorpio facelift is under development.

The SUV was spotted camouflaged at the front and rear in Karnataka which indicates a revised front fascia and some tweaks to the rear as well. However, the bigger change will be in the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine which is set to get a 20 HP bump in power. This engine is expected to produce 140 HP of power in the facelifted Scorpio.

Mahindra is expected to carry forward the same 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes in the facelifted Scorpio as well. The current selling Scorpio is priced at Rs. 9.84 lakhs for the base S2 version while the top of the line S10 variant with an automatic transmission and a 4-wheel drive is priced at Rs. 15.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Mahindra Scorpio rivals the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Honda BR-V and Tata Safari Storme.
