The 2018 Hyundai i20 facelift has been launched, priced from Rs. 5.34 lakhs.
The 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 facelift has been launched in India with introductory prices starting from Rs. 5.34 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The facelift brings a slew of cosmetic and minor mechanical changes to the i20.
The premium hatchback gets the signature cascading effect grille (like the new Verna) and subtle design revisions to the bumper and the headlight. The headlights continue to feature projectors like the outgoing model. Side and rear profile get no major changes save for the newly designed diamond-cut alloy wheels. However, the combination effect LED tail-lights (as seen in the Verna and Elantra) have given way to a new pattern on the tail-lights which still looks premium and snazzy.
There are no major alterations to the cabin of the i20 facelift. The dashboard design remains similar to the outgoing model but what is new is the updated touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mechanicals of the vehicle remains unchanged. The vehicle continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. The 1.2-litre Kappa engine produces 83 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque while the 1.4-litre diesel mill is good enough for 90 PS of power and 220 Nm of torque. The petrol powertrain gets a 5-speed manual gearbox and a new CVT gearbox while the oil-burner unit continues with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-litre petrol with the 4-speed automatic gearbox has been discontinued.
The Hyundai Elite i20 rivals the Maruti Baleno, Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz.
