The 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 facelift images have been doing rounds on the internet ahead of its unveiling at the Auto Expo next week. The premium hatchback gets subtle styling tweaks to the inside and outside and will rival the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.

Up front, there is the company’s signature cascading effect grille while the headlights (projectors on the top-end trims) and the bumper see minor tweaks in design. The i20 here is the range-topping grade which gets LED DRLs housed inside the headlamp cluster. The mid variants will get them near the fog lamps. At the sides, save for the new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, everything else is identical to the pre-facelift car. Move to the rear and you’ll notice the redesigned tailgate with the registration plate holder. The lower part of the bumper gets a horizontal black insert with reflectors while the tail-lights get different LED detailing inside them.

The interior remains largely similar to the outgoing car. There is the 3-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Verna, instrument gauges are similar to the older i20 and the dashboard continues with the dual-tone black and beige theme. The centre console gets chrome accents and the buttons around the touchscreen infotainment system have been reduced. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be offered with the infotainment system. Other features offered are automatic climate control and reverse parking camera with sensors.

The facelifted Hyundai Elite i20 will come powered by the same 1.4-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol motors mated to manual gearboxes. With the facelift, Hyundai will also offer a new CVT gearbox with the 1.2-litre petrol engine. The 1.4-litre petrol with the 4-speed automatic gearbox will be discontinued. Expect the prices of the vehicle to start at Rs. 5.79 lakhs for the base petrol trim and go all the way up to Rs. 9.7 lakhs for the top-end diesel variant (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
