The 2018 Honda Gold Wing has been launched in India, is priced at Rs. 26.85 lakhs.
Post the launch of the Africa Twin and the updated CBR 650F, Honda has launched yet another motorcycle in the premium segment, the 2018 Gold Wing. Priced at Rs. 26.85 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), Honda has commenced taking bookings for the vehicle at their exclusive Wing World sales outlets at Delhi and Mumbai and deliveries will begin from January 2018.
For starters, there are two variants on offer – Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tour in the new glossy Candy Ardent Red colour. The die-cast aluminium twin beam frame of the vehicle is stiffer and lighter by 2 kgs making it more nimble and engaging to ride. The 2018 Gold Wing comes powered by a completely reworked 1833cc horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine which produces 125 HP of power at 5500 RPM and peak torque of 170 Nm at 4500 RPM. The motor is mated to a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission which apart from the reverse function offers the ‘Walking’ mode (which makes this mammoth manoeuvrable while parking).
There are four riding modes on offer – Tour, Sport, Economy and Rain. Other electronic aids include Throttle By Wire (ride by wire), HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control), Cruise Control and Hill Start Assist. The motorcycle uses a double wishbone and a monoshock for the front and rear suspension respectively. Braking duties are taken care by dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. ABS and Dual-Combined Braking System (D-CBS) are offered as standard.
Other notable features in the 2018 Honda Gold Wing include a 7.0-inch TFT colour instrument display with Apple CarPlay, full LED lighting, auto-cancelling indicators, Smart Key control and electrically adjustable windscreen (for angle and height).
