Hero Hunk 200R has been launched at the Motobike Istanbul event at a price equivalent to Rs. 1.91 lakhs.
Just like the last time, Motobike Istanbul exhibition held in Bakirkoy, Turkey was a success this year with a total of 260 participants and more than a lakh visitors. The event concluded on 25th of February and witnessed participation from reputable brands such as Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, Honda and Suzuki. This year, Hero MotoCorp’s stall was dominated by the 2018 Hero Hunk 200R which is essentially the India-bound Hero Xtreme 200R with Hunk badging. The bike has been launched at a price equal to around Rs. 1.91 lakhs for the sole variant on offer.
In terms of design, the street-fighter is an exact replica of the Xtreme 200R. The presence of revised graphics, rim stripes, dual-tone paint job and a blacked-out lower half help lift the visual appeal to a certain extent. Expectedly, the set of features on offer remain the same with alloy wheels, LED DRLs, split grab rails, belly pan and LED tail-lamp being some of the prominent additions. The instrument cluster is a part-digital unit with an analogue tachometer.
Powering the Hero Hunk 200R is an air-cooled, single-cylinder 199cc engine compliant to Euro 4 norms that puts out 18.4 HP of power and 17 Nm of torque. The 4-stroke motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Unlike the Xtreme 200R which is fed by a carburetor, the Hunk 200R utilises a Fuel Injection (FI) system for that purpose. The suspension setup comprises of telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear while braking is performed by disc brakes at either end with single-channel ABS offered as standard equipment.
The Hunk 200R widens the domestic brand’s motorcycle portfolio in Turkey which consists of the Karizma, E-Sports, Hunk and Ignitor 125. Strangely, Hero Karizma (Karizma R) in Turkey carries a significantly lower price tag of around Rs. 1.43 lakhs. In India, Hero hasn’t announced the pricing of Xtreme 200R yet.
