2018 Ford Aspire facelift unveiled for the export markets, expect the compact sedan to be launched in India very soon.
Ford has taken the wraps off the facelifted Aspire (Figo sedan) for the international markets giving us a hint as to what changes can be expected in the Aspire facelift that will be launched later this year. This is the longer version of the Aspire that has premiered in South Africa whereas we get the sub 4-metre version.
The mid-life cycle update brings subtle tweaks to the exterior and interior. Changes on the exterior include a new grille with a chrome surround, larger headlights, restyled bumper at the rear with a blackened portion for a dual-tone look. Inside, there is a redesigned dashboard with a new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. However, the touchscreen infotainment is not available in all markets.
Under the hood, the new Figo sedan gets 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engines from the Dragon family. The Ford Aspire facelift, for India, will continue to be powered by the 100 PS 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine and will also borrow the 96 PS 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine from the Freestyle, thereby, replacing the existing 88 PS 1.2-litre petrol motor. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
