The next generation BMW X3 takes the stage at the 2018 Auto Expo, comes with new styling and features on offer.
Following the new design language of BMW, the latest addition to the X lineup is the new X3, which has been showcased at the ongoing Auto Expo. The SUV now looks modern and fresh, which is a drastic step up from the previous generation that started showing its age quite prominently. The grille is bigger, the lines are smoother and the overall appearance is much more stylish, taking inspiration from the elder X5 and the younger sibling X1.
The new BMW X3 not only comes with a redesigned exterior but also a fully revamped interior with no signs of previous gen. The dashboard is very well designed and carries some amount of fluidity that adds to the drama. There is a new infotainment system following the lines of recent BMWs that gets gesture controls and all the fancy tricks you expect from a latest Bimmer.
BMW will be offering their usual set of engines with the new X3 in India. Internationally, the powertrain options include two petrol engines, two diesel engines and an M-spec petrol engine. The entire range comes paired to a ‘BMW Steptronic’ automatic transmission. BMW will assemble the new gen X3 locally in India and it will compete bang on against the Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC and Volvo XC60. The competition is quite fresh and it’ll be interesting to see the fight.
