The 3-Series GT Sport is BMW’s cheapest offering in its Gran Turismo range in India.
A new variant of the GT range, the BMW 3-Series GT Sport has been launched in India. The variant is priced at Rs. 46.60 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be the most affordable BMW GT model on sale here. It is placed below the GT Luxury Line and the GT M-Sport models making it affordable by Rs. 2.6 lakhs and Rs. 4.6 lakhs respectively.
The lower price does come with the BMW GT Sport missing out on some features. These include the omission of adaptive LED headlights, cruise control with braking function and the 10.5-inch adaptive instrument display with individual character designs for drive modes. Instead, the GT Sport gets a standard high-resolution MID with extended content.
The BMW 3-Series GT Sport will only be offered with a 1995cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out a maximum power of 190 HP at 4000 RPM and develops a peak torque of 400 Nm from 1750-2500 RPM. The engine comes mated to the existing 8-speed steptronic automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels and propels the car from 0-100 km/hr in 7.7 seconds. The car comes with four different driving modes – Comfort, EcoPro, Sport and Sport+.
On the inside, the GT Sport gets fine wood interior trim finished in ash grain with metal inlays. The upholstery includes the Sensatec Black with red highlights and the Sensatec Veneto beige options. There are sports seats in the front, wooden trims on the dashboard, red contrast stitching on the steering wheel, a 205 Watt 9-speaker music system and pearl chrome highlights all around the cabin. The BMW safety package that comes in the Luxury Line and M Sport models will be carried over as it is to the Sport Line.
Those who wish to buy the car will be able to choose between three colour options, the Alpine White, Metallic Black Sapphire and Metallic Imperial Blue. Other options in this price range include the Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and Jaguar XE.
