2018 Bajaj lineup unveiled, all the bikes get styling tweaks while some get new features as well.
Bajaj has revealed its range of motorcycles for the year 2018 at the launch event of the new Discover series. For those unaware, the Discover 110 is priced at Rs. 50,176/- while the Discover 125 is priced at Rs. 53,171/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). Coming to the showcase of the motorcycles, there was the new Avenger 220 (in Street and Cruise trims), Dominar in the new matte colour shades, Pulsar Black Pack edition, new V15 and the Platina Comfortec.
Starting with the flagship Bajaj bike, the Dominar. We have already seen the spy shots of the new Matte Black and Matte Red colours. However, there is also a Matte Blue colour available on the 2018 Dominar. The sports cruiser gets no mechanical changes. The alloy wheels are now finished in gold and the engine crankcase gets black finishing.
The second most exciting bike from the showcase is the Avenger 220. Both the Street and Cruise variants were showcased. While mechanically, the motorcycle remains untouched, there are a host of cosmetic changes. To start with, the bike gets new graphics, new headlight setup with LED DRL, LED tail-light, full-digital instrument console and a textured seat.
The company also showcased the Pulsar Black Pack edition consisting of the Pulsar 150, 180 and 220. The Black Pack edition, as the name suggests, comes finished in black with white alloy wheels and some new graphics. Here too, the mechanicals of the bikes remain untouched. Bajaj launched the Black Pack edition on the occasion of celebrating sales of 1 crore Pulsars worldwide. Next on display was the 2018 V15. Apart from the new pillion backrest, the motorcycle is a ditto of the current model. The new V15 and V12 are priced at Rs. 64,179/- and Rs. 54,549/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
The 2018 Discover 110 comes powered by a 115.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled and carburetted motor which develops 8.6 PS of power and 9.81 Nm of torque while the Discover 125 draws power from a 124.5cc, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine which outputs 11 PS of power and 11 Nm of torque. The powertrain comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The 125cc mill is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The final bike on display was the Platina Comfortec which was launched last year. The motorcycle received LED DRLs and that’s about it. The bike continues to draw power from the same 102cc single-cylinder DTS-i motor. Peak power is rated at 7.9 PS and peak torque at 8.3 Nm. This motor comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox.
