The 2018 Avenger 220 Street has been spied ahead of its launch scheduled this month.
News of the new Bajaj Avenger has been doing rounds on the internet for quite some time now and finally, we are treated to some clear spy shots of the bike. The motorcycle spotted here is the Avenger 220 Street. The price of this cruiser offering has also been leaked ahead of its launch. According to sources, the Avenger 220 Street is priced at Rs. 93,000/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and the on-road price comes to Rs. 1,09,000/-.
Coming to the cosmetic changes, the 2018 Avenger 220 Street gets a new headlamp setup with an aluminium finish around it. There is also a cowl on top of the headlight that looks Harley-inspired. The side panels and the fuel-tank have been given a minor tweak in design and the bike now features an LED tail-light as well. There is also a tank-mounted display. However, the most crucial feature has to be the full-digital instrument console which also has an aluminium finish around it.
The chassis has been given mild tweaks but the Avenger 220 still continues with standard telescopic forks up front and twin shocks at the rear. Though the model seen here does not feature a rear disc brake, disc brakes on both the ends are most likely to make it. Single-channel ABS could be offered as optional.
The Avenger 220 gets no mechanical changes and still continues to be powered by a 220cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine which produces 19.03 PS of power and 17.5 Nm of torque. The powertrain is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
