The 2018 Audi Q8 and A8 have been spotted testing together in India for homologation.
The 2018 Audi Q8 and A8 have been spied doing test runs in India very recently. This isn’t the first time the 2018 A8 is being spotted but the Q8 sure is. MotorBeam reader Bhagyesh Nawge spotted the cars on test for homologation.
Audi Q8
The German automaker had showcased the Q8 concept earlier this year at the Detroit Motor Show. The Q8 is a four-door coupe-like SUV that is based on the current flagship SUV, the Q7. Once launched, the Q8 will be the flagship SUV for Audi. The company will reveal a production-spec Q8 officially next year.
The spotted Q8 has a coupe-like roofline, headlights with LED DRLs, massive front grille, front bumper with larger air-intakes, large alloy wheels and LED tail-lights. The SUV wears a black paint colour scheme. Interestingly, there is no logo of Audi at the rear.
The cabin of the Q8 is expected to feature a 5-seater layout and is expected to come with all the bells and whistles expected in a premium luxury SUV. The flagship Audi is also expected to come with a host of petrol and diesel engine options.
Audi A8
The A8 like earlier is spotted in the black colour scheme. The spotted car gets a hexagonal grille with chrome surrounds, LED DRLs, LED tail-lights and chrome lining on the windows. The chrome strip that runs across the width of the car accentuates the rear profile, while the twin tailpipes at the rear add some drama.
The A8 will boast of features like seat and foot massager, fully active suspension, level-3 autonomous driving, virtual cockpit and self-parking. The flagship Audi will come powered by 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engines with power outputs of 340 HP and 286 HP respectively. Audi will also offer 4.0-litre V8 petrol and diesel engines and a 6.0-litre W12 engine for the long wheelbase version. However, what engine options will come to India is unknown yet.
