The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion R has been unveiled and borrows the more powerful VVA powertrain from the R15 V3.0.
Yamaha has unveiled a more powerful variant of the V-Ixion, the V-Ixion R. In flesh, the V-Ixion R is a naked version of the Yamaha R15 V3.0. The V-Ixion R will be slotted between the V-Ixion and the R15 V3.0, with prices starting at IDR 2,60,00,000 (approximately Rs. 1.25 lakhs) for the V-Ixion and IDR 3,45,00,000 (approximately Rs. 1.66 lakhs) for the R15 V3.0.
The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion R uses the same 155.1cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) engine as the latest generation R15, producing 19.31 HP of maximum power and 14.7 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Variable Valve Actuation feature helps the motorcycle produce enough power across the rev range. The Yamaha V-Ixion also comes with a fully digital instrumentation cluster that features a shift light. There’s slipper clutch, LED headlamps and a USB charger on offer too. Braking duties are via a disc setup at both front as well as the rear. There’s a wider rear tyre for added comfort and stability. Yamaha has no plans to launch this motorcycle in India in the near future.
