Volvo is a luxury carmaker from Sweden who recently rose from ashes with some backing from its new Chinese owners. The company recently unveiled its new design language with the beautiful Volvo Concept Estate in 2014 and applied it on its new generation XC90, S90 and V90 vehicles. Now the company has also updated its smallest cars, the V40 and V40 Cross Country, and given them the signature grille and headlamps treatment in order to bring them upto the latest family face.

The Volvo V40 is the largest selling Volvo car in Europe. The luxury hatchback in its mid-life facelift gets the new award winning ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlights and a new grille mesh incorporating the Volvo iron mark. The car also gets new upholstery options, steering wheel colors and an exclusive black headliner. Other updates include the new interior panel trims with option of Milled Aluminium, Black Grid Aluminium and Stealth Aluminium along with trim-coloured door inserts with contrasting stitching.

The refreshed Volvo V40 also gets the updated Volvo On Call technology and the CleanZone technology which ensures that outside air is finely filtered before entering the cabin, removing pollutants and aiding allergy sufferers. The new Volvo V40 comes in five colour options including the completely new Amazon Blue and Denim Blue along with the standard Bursting Blue, Mussel Blue and Luminous Sand. The company will launch the 2017 V40 and V40 Cross Country at the Geneva Motor Show this year and will start deliveries later in 2016.

The Volvo V40 is a luxury hatchback which competes with the Mercedes A-Class and the BMW 1-Series in India. The vehicle is powered by a 2.0-litre D3 diesel motor which produces 150 BHP of power and 350 NM of torque while sending power to its front wheels using a 6-speed automatic transmission.
