Volkswagen has revealed a lot of details of the 2017 Tiguan and it packs quite a punch. The SUV will be launched in India in 2016.
The 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan is all set to make its public debut at the oncoming Frankfurt Auto Show and now the German automaker has completely revealed the vehicle along with all its details. The second generation Tiguan gets bigger, more spacious and much lighter in weight compared to its predecessor. The front fascia gets a lot of striking elements and as expected from Volkswagen, the styling is simple and yet has a very premium touch. The headlights look quite straightforward and have LEDs at the bottom. The grille gets two chrome slats while the air dam also gets a chrome slat.
The side profile is very uncluttered and has a couple of straight lines flowing from the front to the rear, adding some character to this SUV. The alloys have a cool design and make the vehicle look fast even while it is standing still. The rear of the Tiguan looks absolutely gorgeous without doubt. The tail lamps have a distinct design and overall, the car looks very pleasant to the eyes. The interiors are again just like other Volkswagens. The simple design looks very good and there is a lot of tech on offer. The Tiguan comes with Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, Front Assist ambient monitoring system with City Monitoring and Pedestrian Monitoring.
The new Tiguan is 50 kgs lighter than the outgoing model. Space at the rear has also been increased and so has the wheelbase. The boot can handle 520-litres of luggage which increases to 615-litres with the rear seat pushed ahead. The European markets will get four TSI engines with the Tiguan with power ranging from 125 PS to 220 PS. The four TDI diesel engines get power figures ranging from 115 PS to 240 PS. The SUV will get both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive layouts. The Tiguan will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show and it will be brought down to India in 2016.
