The 2017 Tata Prima race truck is the most powerful to be built in India with 1040 HP and 3500 Nm!
The 2017 Tata Prima race season is all set to take place in the upcoming weekend. The Prima race truck that has been developed for the 2017 season gets a 12-litre engine that is mounted in the middle of the chassis and it produces a massive 1040 HP of power at 2600 RPM. The engine is mated to a ZF 16-speed gearbox with hydraulic assisted gear shifts.
The engine has been developed in collaboration with Cummins Inc from the US and the 2017 Prima race truck is by far the most powerful truck to be made in India. Along with all the horses, it produces a huge 3500 Nm of torque from 1600-2200 RPM. The race truck goes from 0-160 km/hr in less than 10 seconds.
The truck also gets racing seat, roll cage fitted in the cabin, front and rear axle mounted disc brakes, racing slick tyres, 2 leaf springs and pneumatic shock absorbers. The disc brakes get a cooling system which consists of aluminium tanks holding 180-litres of water and air-pressurised water is sprayed through nozzle jets.
Some other features include a power cut-off switch, app-based remotely controlled diagnosis and a touchscreen display with GPS and rear view camera. The 4th edition of Tata Prima T1 racing championship will take place on 19th March 2017 at the BIC.
