Skoda has given the Rapid new set of features which include a reverse camera and 16-inch alloys in the Style variant.
Skoda has given the Style variant of its best-selling sedan, the Rapid, three new features. There is a reverse camera whose output is integrated into the 6.5-inch touch-screen infotainment system, a soft-touch boot release button and 16-inch alloy setup for the wheels.
However, there is no update on the official website of Skoda, but if reports are to be believed, the cars with these features have already started reaching dealerships and deliveries too have commenced. Both the petrol as well as diesel models have been given these features. The added equipment has made the Style variant command a premium of approximately Rs. 35,000/-.
The 2017 Skoda Rapid is offered with a choice of petrol as well as diesel engines. The petrol is a 1.6-litre MPI unit that generates 103 HP of power and 153 Nm of peak torque, and is available with manual as well as automatic transmission options. The diesel is a 1.5-litre TDi unit that makes 108 HP of power and 250 Nm of peak torque, and is also available with manual as well as an automatic (DSG) gearbox.
The Skoda Rapid is available in 3 variants – Active, Ambition and Style and comes with six colour options, namely Silver, Red, Carbon Steel, White, Beige, Blue. The Skoda Rapid goes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, the segment leader Honda City and its cousin, the Volkswagen Vento.
