The 2017 Skoda Rapid facelift has been spied again, ahead of its impending launch on 3rd November 2016.
The Skoda Rapid facelift was once again spied at a dealership backyard. The Rapid did receive some minor updates earlier, but this will be a major update. The facelift will bring cosmetic changes to the front fascia, a reloaded equipment list and tweaked mechanicals. Skoda will launch the new Rapid on 3rd November 2016.
The major cosmetic changes appear to have been at the front. The headlamps are now larger in size and appear sharper than the current version’s curvaceous units. The lower bumper’s black cladding now stretches on both sides and houses larger trapezoidal fog lamps.
There are some minor revisions to the grille as well which is also outlined in chrome. The side profile doesn’t offer many changes but the design of the alloys appear to be a lot more simple. The Rapid facelift strongly resembles its bigger sister Octavia especially when viewed from the front.
The interior will mostly have the same layout but you can expect the feature list to be upgraded to withstand the competition. Skoda might offer new features like cruise control, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, etc. The engine options will remain the same, except the Rapid will now house the more powerful 110 PS 1.5-litre TDI engine found on the Ameo. The Skoda Rapid facelift will battle it out with the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Fiat Linea. Prices are expected to show a marginal increment.
