Renault Captur will be a very premium offering and priced significantly higher than the Duster.
While Renault hasn’t specified a launch date for its upcoming crossover, the Captur, it is expected to be launched by this Diwali. Rivalling the Hyundai Creta primarily, the Renault Captur will be a premium offering and will be priced much higher than the Duster.
With the launch of the Captur, Renault intends to repeat the same success story it did when it launched the Duster and Kwid a few years back. Meanwhile, the company is fast expanding its retail footprint in India. Renault already has 300 outlets across the country and has recently opened 10 outlets in a single day in Kerala.
The Renault Captur comes with unique French design cues and proper crossover styling. LED headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs, contrast roof option, LED tail-lights and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity are the main highlights of this crossover. The Captur draws power from 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. These motors are the same that power the Duster as well but Renault might give a bump in the power output of these drivetrains.
Prices for the Renault Duster range between Rs. 8.29 – 13.45 lakhs while the Creta comes at a slight premium over the Duster. Prices for the Hyundai Creta range between Rs. 8.92 – 14 lakhs and expect Renault to price the Captur in the same vicinity as the Creta (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
