2017 RE Continental GT ABS Spied Testing, Likely With Euro IV Engine

The 2017 RE Continental GT ABS is undergoing testing and the spied mule carries the identical cosmetics of the current motorcycle.

The tank bag with some electronic instrument indicates the engine testing

The Royal Enfield Continental GT may not be the best selling motorcycle from the British bike maker’s fleet but it does make you remember the old days. After all, it is the reincarnation of the 1960’s cafe racer from Royal Enfield. The clip-on handlebars, elongated fuel tank, single seat and rear cowl, are a few elements that make it stand out of the crowd. Recently, some images of the Continental GT has been captured which shows the motorcycle is under development for some improvements.

Though the spied mule was not plying on Indian roads, we expect the tested specifications to be changed on all the Continental GT motorcycles worldwide. As can be seen from the images, every cosmetic bits of the motorcycle used for testing has remained unchanged except the bike is equipped with ABS. The only clue could be obtained by the bag on the tank consisting of some electronic gadget. Perhaps, the testing is carried out for the new Euro-IV compliant engine and to check various other parameters related to the mill.

The images obtained belong to the roads of UK but we can expect some engine variations on the motorcycle in the Indian market as well. The Royal Enfield Continental GT carries a 535cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that pumps out 29.1 BHP of power at 5100 RPM and 44 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM.
