Bajaj Auto has given the 2017 Pulsar RS 200 new colour schemes which look quite appealing.
The Pulsar RS 200 hasn’t got the success which we anticipated. While it has sold in decent numbers, the high price (as many tend to compare the flagship Pulsar with the Yamaha R15 which is inferior on displacement and power) and polarising design hasn’t made it as popular as the Pulsar 200 NS. As the new year is here, Bajaj Auto has given the Pulsar RS 200 two new colours.
This isn’t the first time the Pulsar RS 200 has been spotted with new colours as the same was showcased in Turkey last month. The two-tone colour schemes certainly look good with the racing blue surely reminding one of Yamaha’s R bikes which use a similar paint job. The front wheel is finished in blue while the rear uses a black rim (similar to how Hero did it with the Xtreme). The other new colour is black grey in which the Pulsar RS 200 looks striking.
Other than the new colour, Bajaj has also upgraded the 199.5cc, fuel-injected motor to comply with BS-IV emission norms. There are no mechanical changes and the full-faired motorcycle produces the same 24.5 PS of power and 18.6 Nm of torque. The 2017 Pulsar RS 200 is priced at Rs. 1.47 lakhs for the non-ABS variant while the single-channel ABS equipped model retails at Rs. 1.62 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
Even with the new colours, the sales of the Pulsar RS 200 are unlikely to increase as the Bajaj Dominar 400 costs slightly more and offers way more performance, features and bang for the buck.
