Weeks back the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 was spied testing on the Mumbai-Pune highway and now has been spied at a dealership here in India indicating a launch sometime soon.

Based on the recently discontinued Pulsar AS 150, the Pulsar NS 160 is a completely new product and will be positioned above the Pulsar 150. The Pulsar NS 160 borrows design cues from its bigger sibling, the Pulsar NS 200 and almost looks identical to it.

The Pulsar NS 160 features split seats, split grab rails, split LED tail-lamp and an underbelly exhaust but misses out on a rear disc brake. Suspension duties are via a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. The Turkey-spec Pulsar NS 160 gets a single-channel ABS but it remains to be seen whether Bajaj will offer the same on the India-spec model, we feel it’s very unlikely.

Powering the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 is a 160cc single-cylinder oil-cooled motor that produces 15.05 HP of maximum power at 8500 RPM and 14.6 Nm of maximum torque at 6500 RPM. This engine comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

Bajaj is expected to launch the Pulsar NS 160 in the Indian market by the festive season this year. Once launched, the Pulsar NS 160 will go against the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
