2017 Maruti Swift Road Testing Commences With Heavy Camouflage

Maruti Suzuki seems to be working on its hatchback benchmark, the Swift. The vehicle was spotted testing recently and it exhibited a few visual changes.

Road testing of the 2017 Maruti Swift has just commenced internationally

Maruti Suzuki is one of the most popular and leading car manufacturers in India. The Swift is a vehicle which has been favoured by a large number of customers worldwide. Apart from bagging awards with every generation launch, the Swift has also won the British Rally Championship. This hatchback is a favourite of enthusiasts. The company came up with a facelift of the Swift to increase sales not too long ago. Now, the next generation prototype was spotted testing.

The next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift was spotted heavily masked. The visible parts such as the positioning of rear door handles, headlights, floating roof line, tail light and the aggressively styled front end with a large single frame grille matched to the leaked renders of the car. These tweaks might be accompanied with a few other changes, details of which are unknown at present.

The interior is said to sport a minimalistic design with a twin binnacle instrument panel and a large infotainment screen on the centre console. The next generation Swift is likely to get a BoosterJet petrol motor. The turbo motor will churn out upwards of 100 PS of power with better fuel economy. The diesel model might get a new 1.5-litre engine which is expected to produce 100 PS of power.

For customers targeting the hatchback segment, the Maruti Swift could be their best option as it is a combination of features and handling with a decent mileage. Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the next generation Swift in India by 2017. A higher-performance sports model is expected by late 2017 that could possibly be launched in India.
