The S-Cross facelift will be launched only with the 1.3 diesel engine, Maruti to discontinue the 1.6 diesel option.
Maruti is expected to launch the facelifted S-Cross by the last week of September this year and some dealerships across India have already started taking bookings for the same.
However, it has been learnt that Maruti will not be offering the 1.6-litre diesel engine on the facelifted S-Cross. The previous iteration was available with the 1.3-litre & 1.6-litre diesel engines, but the facelift will do only with the 1.3-litre oil-burner. With regards to a petrol motor, Maruti is expected to give the S-Cross facelift a new petrol motor that will help it to cater to a wider audience.
Dealerships across the country have stopped taking orders for the 1.6 diesel variant owing to lower demand and it is likely that Maruti has also stopped the production of the same. The 1.3-litre diesel motor is expected to be offered in the same state of tune. The 1.3-litre diesel engine in the current S-Cross makes 89 HP of power and 200 Nm of torque. This engine comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox only.
The facelifted S-Cross will come with styling tweaks to the interior as well as exterior. Changes to the exterior come in the form of a more bolder face with chrome accents on the vertically stacked grille and new headlamps with LED DRLs. While the side profile remains same, the rear gets minor tweaks to the tail-lights and bumper. The cabin in the S-Cross facelift is also expected to get a tweaked layout and updated trim bits.
