The 2017 Maruti DZire was involved in a high-speed crash with a Tata Safari Storme SUV. The images reveal the wrecked remains of both the cars. Fortunately, none of the occupants of the cars were injured.

On contacting the person who had clicked these pictures, it was revealed that the accident occurred when the Safari Storme was trying to overtake the Maruti DZire. The Safari Storme driver was driving at high speed and rashly too. He wasn’t following lane discipline either. While overtaking the DZire, the driver of the Safari invariably lost control of his vehicle and hit the divider.

The speed at which the Safari hit the divider made it turn sideways and move into the DZire’s lane. The Safari’s bonnet, engine area, radiator, front right suspension and the tyre have been severely damaged.

The third generation Maruti DZire was on its way to a dealership in Gwalior but ended up in this situation. The 2017 Maruti DZire is built on a new platform called HEARTACT that uses high tensile steel and also complies with NCAP crash test norms. This has made the cabin safer, this crash too proves it. The cabin of the DZire remained intact even after a crash with such a big SUV.

The 2017 Maruti DZire is being shipped to dealers as the launch date is nearing. It will be launched on 16th May 2017 with prices expected to be around Rs. 30,000/- more than the outgoing model.
