The 2017 KTM Duke 125 doesn’t just look like its elder sibling, the Duke 390, but also packs the same set of features.
The KTM Duke 125 was showcased at the 2016 EICMA along with the 2017 KTM Duke 390 and the Duke 790 Prototype. The Duke 125 looks very similar to the Duke 390 in terms of styling and appearance. In terms of looks, the only thing that sets the Duke 125 and the Duke 390 apart are the alloy wheels, the former gets black painted alloys while the latter gets KTM’s signature orange alloys.
The KTM Duke 125 is powered by a 124.7cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine that is capable of producing 14.75 HP (11 kW) of power. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Features wise, the Duke 125 gets upside down forks, disc brakes upfront and at the rear with dual channel ABS, LED headlights and a TFT display with integrated connectivity options. The bike tips the scale at 137 kgs and comes in two color options – Orange and White.
Meanwhile, KTM isn’t offering the fantastic TFT instrument cluster on the Duke 250 which makes do with the old unit, a bit disappointing indeed. What’s even more disappointing is the lack of ABS on the Duke 250, even as an option, something which is available on the cheaper Bajaj Dominar 400. At a price of Rs. 2.00 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai), the Duke 250 costs as much as the first generation Duke 390 when it was first launched in 2013.
