The 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 has been launched in India and there is a Z1000R special edition too.
The 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 has been launched in India priced at Rs. 14.4 lakhs. The Japanese automaker has also launched the Kawasaki Z1000R, which is a special edition of the Z1000 and is priced at Rs. 15.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune). The motorcycle is powered by a 1043cc, in-line four cylinder engine that belts out 142 PS of power at 10,000 RPM and 111 Nm of torque at 7300 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
For 2017, there are a slew of changes including a retuned ECU for smoother power delivery, revised front fork setting, increase in rear suspension travel, more movement of the rearview mirrors for better adjustment, 5-way adjustable clutch lever, gear position indicator and a clock with 12 and 24-hour display format. Braking duties are taken care by dual 310 mm discs at the front and a single 250 mm disc at the rear, ABS being standard. The bike also gets re-engineered rear brake pad for added stopping power.
For the Kawasaki Z1000R, there is additional equipment on offer such as 41 mm USD forks with Ohlins rear shock and Brembo M50 monoblock brake callipers at the front. The Z1000 is offered in two colours – black and green while the Z1000R is offered in black and grey paint shades. Kawasaki hasn’t mentioned as to how many units of the Z1000R have been allotted to India.
