The Isuzu MU-X has been given a mild update which includes exterior and interior tweaks.
Isuzu has just unveiled an updated version of the MU-X SUV for global markets. The MU-X is the successor to the MU-7 and it is going to be launched in India later this year too. The 2017 Isuzu MU-X comes with a host of changes to the exteriors and interiors apart from some mechanical revisions.
The SUV now gets a revised front bumper and grille. The headlamps now get projectors and LED DRLs. It also gets 18-inch wheels now in place of the older 17-inch wheels. At the rear, the tail lamps now get LED inserts along with a redesigned bumper.
The dashboard of the MU-X gets a dual tone colour theme along with faux wood inlays. The SUV gets a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Powering the vehicle is a choice of 2 engines – 1.9-litre diesel mill producing 150 horses or a 3.0-litre oil-burner giving out 177 horses. The smaller engine gets a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission but misses out on 4WD while the bigger engine gets 4WD and the 6-speed AT as standard.
The Isuzu MU-X is India bound and will replace the ageing MU-7 here. The D-Max V-Cross has found a lot of fans in India and thus Isuzu is gaining decent traction in our market. When the MU-X arrives here, it will compete with the likes of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
