Hyundai has teased the 2017 Verna, giving us glimpse of the front fascia of the sedan.
Hyundai will be launching the 2017 Verna this coming 22nd August 2017 and the carmaker has teased the sedan much ahead of its launch. The teaser image reveals the front fascia of the sedan that is characterised by LED DRLs, Hyundai’s signature hexagonal front grille and fog lamps.
A microsite for the third generation Hyundai Verna is also now live for viewers to register and receive updates. The 2017 Verna carries Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language and is identical to the North American-spec Accent.
In terms of dimensions, the 2017 Hyundai Verna is 15 mm longer, 29 mm wider and sits on a wheelbase that is 10 mm more than the current generation model. And thanks to this, the cabin is very spacious. The interiors will get a new dashboard with more upmarket and premium materials and the top of the line variant will get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Also expect a leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise control and infotainment buttons, automatic ‘Clean Air’ climate control, dual airbags and ABS as standard across the range and rear parking sensors, side and curtain airbags and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels too to make it on the top of the line variant.
The third generation Hyundai Verna is expected to be powered by the same 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines producing 90 HP and 107 HP respectively. The top of the line 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines producing 123 HP and 128 HP respectively will also be on offer. Expect Hyundai to price the 2017 Verna slightly higher than the current generation model, competing against segment best-sellers, the Honda City and Maruti Ciaz.
