Hyundai has decided to offer a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the Eon along with some other tweaks to the exterior.
Hyundai India has launched the 2017 Eon Sports Edition, priced from Rs. 3.88-4.14 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It only gets three extra features compared to the older model. The exteriors get side body mouldings and roof rails. The most important addition is the 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system comes with MirrorLink, aux-IN, USB and navigation as well.
The Sports Edition is offered only on the Era Plus and Magna Plus trims and is available only in Polar White colour. There are no mechanical changes to the car, it still runs on the same 800cc, iRDE, 3-cylinder petrol engine, that makes 56 HP of power and 74 Nm of torque.
The Eon has been facing tough competition from rivals, especially the Renault Kwid and hence Hyundai is now hoping to fetch more sales by launching this special edition. The Era Plus is priced at Rs. 3.88 lakhs while the Magna Plus costs Rs. 4.14 lakhs.
