The Honda CLIQ has been launched in India, priced at Rs. 42,499/- and is aimed at rural markets.
Honda had told earlier that it would be riding two new scooters by the end of 2017, and has launched one among them, the CLIQ. Not a regular looking scooter, the Honda CLIQ comes priced at Rs. 42,499/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in Rajasthan only with pan India availability said to happen by this festive season.
Powering the Honda CLIQ is the same engine that does duty on the Activa, Dio and Navi. A 109cc 4-stroke engine that is good enough to produce 8 HP of power and 8.94 Nm of torque. This motor comes paired to a V-Matic transmission that makes city runs hassle-free.
The Honda CLIQ sits on an Under Bone frame and comes suspended via a hydraulic loaded spring suspension both at the front as well as the rear (it misses out on front telescopic forks, just like the Activa). Braking duties are via a 130 mm drum unit both at the front as well as the rear. The CLIQ runs on 90 section tubeless tyre up front as well as the rear. It weighs 1 kg less than the Activa.
Tipping the scale at 102 kgs, the Honda CLIQ comes with a fuel tank capacity of 3.5 litres. Other features include a wider floor board, longer and wider seat, mobile charging socket, automatic headlamp on and a block pattern any road tyres.
Honda is also offering a host of optional accessories like a front screen, floor cover, box centre, cap cover and a rear grip on the CLIQ. Available in four colour schemes namely Moroccan Blue, Orcus Grey, Patriot Red and Black, the Honda CLIQ also comes with Honda’s Combi-Braking System (CBS) with Equaliser technology.
