The 2017 Force Gurkha has been launched, gets changes to the exteriors, interiors and some mechanicals.
Force has launched the 2017 Gurkha in India and it is priced from Rs. 8.38-9.36 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2017 Force Gurkha is BS4 compliant and also gets some mechanical changes. Apart from that, the SUV also gets minor revisions to the exterior and interior.
Talking about the mechanical bits first, the 2.6-litre engine producing 86 HP of power remains unchanged except for the fact that it is BS4 compliant now. However, it gets a new 5-speed manual gearbox. Power is sent to either all 4 wheels or the rear wheels. The Gurkha also gets a new ladder frame chassis along with a new suspension set-up.
There are new independent struts with gas-charged shock absorbers and an anti-roll bar at the front while at the rear you get a new multi-link set-up which also gets gas-charged hydraulic shocks and an anti-roll bar. The 4WD version of the Gurkha comes equipped with low range and locking front & rear differentials.
On the outside, you get new bumpers and grille along with a set of A/T tyres. There are no other changes to the outside. The insides now come with a new steering wheel, new gear lever and new AC controls. The 2017 Force Gurkha is available in two trims – Xplorer and Xpedition.
The Xplorer trim is offered in both 3-door and 5-door body styles. The 3-door variant is offered with either a hard top or a soft top, along with 4+1 to 7+1 seating configurations while the 5-door variant gets only a hard top. The Xplorer trim also gets 4WD which makes it a better package than the Xpedition trim.
The Xpedition trim is offered in only the 5-door body style with a hard top. The 5-door variant is available in 6+1 and 8+1 seating configurations. The Xpedition trim misses out on 4WD and it is rear-wheel-drive.
