The 2017 BMW 3-Series GT Facelift (LCI) has been launched in India, it is assembled via the CKD route and comes in three variants.
BMW has launched the 2017 3-Series Gran Turismo (GT) in India, priced from Rs. 43.30 lakhs (ex-showroom). The vehicle doesn’t get drastic changes but the design of the bumpers have been revised while the updated lights are LED units. The interior too gets minimal changes but boasts of a new interface for the navigation, the luxury sedan now supporting wireless charging for smartphones.
The 2017 BMW 3-Series GT if offered in two trims – Luxury Line and Sports Line. It gets more chrome in the cabin with new wood trimming and the features list is longer now with adaptive LED headlights being offered as part of standard kit. The car also gets launch control and steering mounted paddle shifts as standard while the Sports+ mode is also available in the Luxury Line variant.
Powering the BMW 3-Series GT is a 2.0-litre diesel engine which generates 190 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque. The BMW 320d does the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 7.7 seconds. The vehicle is also offered with a petrol engine, the 2.0-litre gasoline motor outputs 252 HP and 350 Nm, resulting in the 330i reaching the ton in 6.1 seconds. Both the engines are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The BMW 3-Series GT is based on the 3-Series sedan but has a longer wheelbase resulting in more rear seat space, the boot too is bigger. It is brought to India via the CKD route and sits between the 3-Series and 5-Series sedan in the BMW lineup.
