Piaggio has launched the 2017 Aprilia Shiver and Dorsoduro 900 in India, with an introductory price tag on limited units.
Aprilia has extended its India line-up through the launch of the Shiver and Dorsoduro 900. The Shiver 900 will be available at an introductory price of Rs. 11.99 lakhs while the Dorsoduro 900 is available at Rs. 12.50 lakhs, (ex-showroom, Pune). The (south regions) Hyderabad, Bangalore, Cochin and Chennai have an introductory price of Rs 12.29 lakhs for the Shiver 900 and Rs. 12.78 lakhs for the Dorsoduro 900.
Both the motorcycles are powered by a new 900cc V-twin 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine that puts out 95.2 HP and 90 Nm of torque. This V-twin motor comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Both the motorcycles also feature ride by wire accelerator system and braking duties are taken care by twin 320 mm front discs and a 240 mm single disc at the rear. The disc brakes come with dual channel ABS as standard. While the Shiver 900 is a naked street-fighter, the Dorsoduro is an adventure motorcycle.
Both the motorcycles feature the necessary electronic aids required on motorcycles of this sort. The Shiver and Dorsoduro 900 also feature an ultra-modern 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster that comes with smartphone connectivity and three riding modes namely Rain, Touring and Sport. Aprilia has also thrown in the advanced traction control system and a 540 gms lighter Kayaba front forks and lighter 3-spoke alloy wheels.
Both the Shiver and Dorsoduro 900 run on 120 section 17″ tyre upfront and 180 section 17″ tyre at the rear. While the Shiver 900 offers a fuel-tank capacity of 15-litres, the Dorsoduro 900 does with 12-litres.
