2016 Yamaha R25 Upgraded With New Colours & Graphics In Indonesia

Yamaha Indonesia has updated the R25 for MY2016 with new colours and graphics to keep the model fresh amidst competition.

The 2016 Yamaha R25 gets no mechanical changes

The Yamaha YZF-R25 went on sale in Indonesia back in 2014 after much anticipation and has been a popular seller globally for the automaker. Completing almost two years in its home market, Yamaha Indonesia has introduced the upgraded R25 for the 2016 model year with new colours and graphics. The full-faired bike now comes with Grey and Black and Diablo Red and White dual-tone paint options along with Racing Blue and White combination currently available.

Solely produced at the Jakarta based facility globally, the new colours are available only on the ABS version of the Yamaha R25 while the non-ABS version continues to sport the Racing Blue, Diablo Red and Predator Black shades. Completing almost two years, the automaker stated that the new colours and graphics have been introduced to keep the model fresh amidst competition which includes some very capable products including the KTM RC 250, Honda CBR250R, Hyosung GT250R, Kawasaki Ninja 250 and the likes.

For the record, the 2016 Yamaha R25 gets no mechanical changes and draws power from the same 249cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine tuned to produce 36 PS at 12,000 RPM and 22.1 Nm of torque available at 10,000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with telescopic forks up front and a monoshock setup does duty at the rear, while braking performance comes from disc brakes at the front and rear with optional ABS.

It is likely that Yamaha will extend the new colour scheme and graphics on the YZF-R3 as well, which is essentially the same bike as the R25 but with a bigger motor. Talking about its Indian operations, Yamaha has received an overwhelming response to the R3 in the country and is now gearing up to launch the MT-03 this year which is likely to be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo. The MT-03 will also be making its Indian debut as a CKD unit.

The new colours are intended to keep the model fresh in the segment
The colours & graphics will also trickle down to the bigger Yamaha R3
