The next generation Toyota Innova will make its debut in 2016 and it is set to get heavy tweaks on the exteriors and interiors. The engine range will also be revamped.
The Toyota Innova completes a decade in India this year. This is the MPV that is bought by families, corporate honchos and cabbies alike. The Innova has been the best-selling model for Toyota for a long time and it also continues to reign the MPV market in India. Toyota gave the Innova some updates which were mostly cosmetic at regular intervals to keep the product line-up fresh but now it is high time that the model gets a proper makeover. The 2016 Toyota Innova has been spotted undergoing testing in India since a long time but the vehicle has always been covered in camouflage. Now, a completely undisguised picture of the Innova has been leaked.
The 2016 Toyota Innova is set to receive full-fledged exterior and interior changes. The front of the MPV gets a completely different look with the new headlights, new grille, new bumper and new windscreen. The grille looks a bit quirky while the headlights are quite striking. The side profile of the MPV gets two sharp lines and the windows seem to appear marginally smaller than the current model. The next generation Innova also gets new alloy wheels. The rear of the MPV is set to get massive changes too while the interiors will also be completely revamped and a lot of new features will be added.
The 2016 Toyota Innova will share its underpinnings with the new Fortuner and Hilux. Currently, it is powered by a 2.5-litre D-4D diesel engine but the new model will get a newly-developed engine while an automatic transmission might also be offered. The Innova in its present form sells in really good numbers each month and it is highly known for its reliability. With the new Innova, Toyota will once again taste success despite it being slightly expensive. While the present Innova costs Rs. 15.81 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top most ZX variant, the new Innova will surely touch the Rs. 20 lakhs figure.
